Biography
Maxim Petlin is a former member of the Ekaterinburg City Duma and Chairman of the Sverdlovsk regional branch of the Yabloko party. He was accused of extorting 3 million roubles from the director of a construction firm involved in the development of a park, in defence of which Petlin was involved. On 22 February 2011 he was detained by FSB officers. On 24 February he was released on bail. Then arrested on 26 August 2011. On 23 March 2012, he was released on bail of 5 million roubles. On 21 March 2013 Petlin was sentenced to three years in prison.
