Mikhail Antonenko

A resident of Krasnodar, an employee of an educational institution. On 9 August 2024, he was taken into custody after a search on charges of organising the activities of an "undesirable" organisation due to his alleged involvement in the Falun Gong movement, a system of spiritual and physical perfection developed in the early 1990s in China. Supporters of the system face persecution because of criticism of Chinese authorities. Seven organisations associated with Falun Gong have been declared "undesirable" in the Russian Federation.
