Mikhail Belousov

Former associate professor at the Institute of History of St. Petersburg State University. On 2 June 2023, he was dismissed from the university. Earlier, pro-war activists accused the scholar of saying that it is possible to use symbols of the "special military operation" only within the framework of post-irony and that "a direct and open approval of ruscism is disgusting." Belousov allegedly wrote these words on Telegram because of creation of a spontaneous memorial at the university to a student who died in the war with Ukraine. Later, a criminal case was opened against him for denying the facts established during the Nuremberg trials.
