The criminal case was initiated under part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and item "b" part 2 of article 115 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. One of the attacking neo-Nazis became a victim in the case. On 29.05.2023 Basmanny court sentenced him to 4.5 years of general regime, as he already had a suspended sentence. The sentence, which was passed by Basmanny court, became the second - the first sentence, under which the antifascists were sentenced to real terms of imprisonment, was cancelled by Moscow City Court and sent for a new consideration in April 2022. In the three years that the case has been pending, the antifascists were under house arrest for a year, then under a recognisance not to leave, and after the first verdict they spent eight months in a pre-trial detention centre.
According to the defence lawyer, Ivanov suffers from epilepsy.
On 26 September 2024, the appeal court overturned the verdict. A new sentence was handed down on 18 August 2025, details are unknown.
