A resident of Novy Urengoy (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug). Before his arrest, he worked in the maintenance of oil and gas facilities. On June 18, 2025, he was detained at the Akhmanka sanatorium in the Tyumen region in connection with a case of justifying terrorism. After his detention, Tymkiv became ill and was hospitalized. The next day he was officially arrested, and on June 20, the court ordered his detention.

The court reported that the case against Tymkiv was initiated because of conversations he had at a sanatorium: he allegedly expressed support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian armed forces and showed videos of explosions targeting transport infrastructure facilities in the Republic of Crimea, Bryansk, and Kursk regions.

While Tymkiv was in custody, he was also charged with calls to extremism.

According to Mediazona, the final charges concerned four statements made by Tymkiv in which he spoke about supporting the sabotage of various facilities in Russian regions organized by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Ukrainian operation "Web," as well as the need to kill Russian soldiers and Russian citizens.

The testimony against the men was given by employees and guests of the sanatorium. He himself claims that he did not make the statements attributed to him, and that the witnesses were lying about him.

On January 16, 2026, Tymkiv was sentenced to three years in a penal colony settlement.
