Mustafa Yagyaev is a housing and utilities fitter in the village of Zheleznodorozhnoye, Bakhchisaray district of Crimea, and imam of a mosque in the neighbouring village of Turgenevka. The case against him was initiated after he had an argument with female employees of the accounting department of the housing and communal services in June 2014. He was accused of inciting hatred and hostility with the use or threat of violence. Yagyaev's home was searched. On 17 July, Yagyaev was sentenced to two years of suspended imprisonment with the deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to the transmission
