Nikolai Bachin

Resident of Bashkortostan. On 25 May 2021, he became a suspect in a case of participation in the activities of an extremist organisation due to his alleged involvement in the organisation At-Taqfir Wal-Hijra, the existence of which some experts call into question. Ildar Abdurakhmanov, whom the investigation believes to be the organiser of the cell, claimed that he and the other defendants were "forced to confess" to involvement in the organisation's activities by threats and blackmail. Gayanov was on his own recognisance not to abscond. On 23 September 2022, he was sentenced; the details remain unknown.
