In March 2022, it became known that a criminal case was opened against Dikhtyar for participation in the activities of an extremist organisation. A measure of restraint was elected in the form of a signature not to leave. On 2 May 2024, he was sentenced to two and a half years' suspended sentence. On 4 July 2024, the court of appeal reduced the sentence by a month.
