Nikolos Berianidze

Georgian serviceman. According to the investigation, he participated in NATO operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. He fought alongside the Ukrainian armed forces. On 20 May 2022, he was taken prisoner. He was sent to the penal colony in Gorlovka (occupied Donetsk region of Ukraine). A case of mercenarism and the murder of three Russian soldiers was opened against him and he was placed in a pre-trial detention centre. On 27 January 2025, Berianidze was sentenced to life imprisonment. On 13 May 2025, the court of appeal changed the sentence, the details are unknown.
