Biography
Alexei Navalny's younger brother, entrepreneur, artist, and at the time of his prosecution, an employee of FSUE Russian Post. On 20 December 2012, along with his brother, he became a defendant in a case of fraud and money laundering. A personal recognizance was chosen as a measure of restriction. On 11 April 2014, the case was transferred to the Zamoskvoretsky court of Moscow. On 28 April, the case was returned to the prosecutor's office. On 29 July, the trial resumed. On 27 January 2021, Oleg Navalny was detained as part of a criminal case on violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules, his flat was searched. On 29 January, the court sent Navalny under house arrest. Later he was charged with incitement to violate the rules. On 7 April, a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions was chosen. On 6 August, he was given one year' suspended sentence.
In January 2022, the criminal-executive inspectorate demanded Navalny's suspended sentence to be replaced with a real one due to his alleged failure to register. He was then put on a federal wanted list. On 18 February, he was sentenced to a year in a strict regime colony.
