Oleg Novopashin

Resident of the Sverdlovsk region. He was accused of participating in the activities of an extremist organisation: investigators believed that he was involved in the "Citizens of the USSR" movement. Members of this movement deny the collapse of the USSR; how structured this movement is and how serious a threat it poses to Russian society is unclear. Novopashin was placed under a travel ban. On August 14, 2024, he was sentenced to two years in a general regime colony.
