Olga Bendas participated in a rally in support of Alexei Navalny on 23 January 2021. Many media reported that Bendas is a citizen of Ukraine, but this is not true: Olga was born in Odessa in 1985 and now has Russian citizenship.
On 29 January 2021, she was sent to detention on charges of using violence against a representative of the authorities at a rally in support of Alexei Navalny.
The investigation claims that the woman struck the policeman several times, including on the head. Bendas does not deny guilt. Olga is known for the video where she picks up a baton
