Paul Ruzycki

Detained in connection with a peaceful action of Greenpeace activists who in September 2013 sailed on the Arctic Sunrise ship to the Prirazlomnaya drilling platform in the Pechora Sea protesting against the development of oil and gas fields on the Arctic shelf; the ship was forcibly stopped and all those on board were detained. Initially charged with piracy, the charge was later re-qualified to hooliganism. He was in custody since September 2013, released on bail in November 2013. Granted amnesty in December 2013.
