Pavel Ivankin

A local activist from St. Petersburg, a former member of the "AgitRussia" movement. On 19 January 2021, he conducted a solitary picket with a poster that read, "Pigs are worse than trash," to protest against detentions during actions in support of Alexey Navalny. He was detained, and subsequently, a case of insulting government representatives was initiated. The reason for this was the poster and the alleged use of offensive language towards the policemen who participated in the arrests. On 1 September 2022, Ivankin was sentenced to six months of community service with probation. On 27 January 2023, the court of appeal upheld the verdict but released Ivanov from punishment due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
