Pavel Kushnir

A pianist who lived in Tambov, Kursk, Kurgan, and Birobidzhan. He ran a YouTube channel where, starting in November 2022, he published four videos in which he critiqued the Russian government and the war in poetic form. According to a Wikipedia article, his channel, created in 2011, had only five subscribers throughout its existence. One of his videos led to a case being opened for incitement to terrorism. Kushnir was taken into custody in May 2024. On July 27, the pianist died in a pre-trial detention centre after a dry hunger strike.
