On 5 March 2020, in connection with the actions of the investigation and the court, filed a criminal complaint with the Military Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of Russia and the Prosecutor's Office of the Saratov region, demanding initiating a criminal case under Art. 299 and 301 of the Criminal Code (bringing a knowingly innocent person to criminal responsibility, illegal detention) due to the fact that the evidence in the case was collected in May-October 2018, but the official publication of information on the recognition of "Tablighi Jamaat" as an extremist organisation took place in "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" only on 13 December of the same year.
On 13 August, he was sentenced to a year and four months of imprisonment in a general regime penal colony and a year of restriction of freedom. The court considered the term of imprisonment served.
