Ramil Aliev

On 16 May 2025, police officers detained a 45-year-old resident of the Voronezh city on a criminal case of rehabilitation of Nazism and abuse of dead bodies and their burial places.

The case was initiated after the man burned flowers and wreaths placed at the Eternal Flame in the Memorial Complex "Monument of Glory" and then put out the fire. According to the version of law enforcement officers, the detainee thus "desecrated the burial place of soldiers who died in the battles for Voronezh during the Great Patriotic War". The man himself explained his actions by strong intoxication

ZERGULIO, a Telegram channel associated with the security forces, wrote that the detainee was Ramil Aliev from Azerbaijan.

On 19 May 2025, the Kominternovsky district court of Voronezh refused to remand the man in custody at the request of the investigator. In July, Aliev's preventive measure was changed to remand in custody. The Investigative Committee reported that the measure was toughened because of the shoplifting. He was also charged with an additional offence because of the theft.

On 2 December, the court sentenced Aliev to 1 year 7 months and 10 days in a general regime colony.
