On 14 May 2019, detained on suspicion of involvement in the attack on police officers during a rally against the transfer of land to Chechnya on 27 March in Magas. Sent to a pre-trial detention centre in Nalchik.

On 2 June 2020, he was sentenced to a year and seven months in a general regime penal colony. Released in the courtroom.
