Rishat Girfanov

He was a witness in the case of five alleged members of Hizb ut-Tahrir (Salavat Khabirov, Alfred Shaimov, whose group, according to the investigation, Girfanov belonged to, and others) being tried in Chelyabinsk, and was prosecuted on charges of participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation; on 3 August 2016, he was sentenced to eight years in a penal colony. He was released in September 2023.
