According to Solomko's former lawyer, he was only connected to the case because some people asked him how he managed to deliver a cargo from abroad to Russia, while he had nothing to do with the cargo containing the explosives used on the bridge. Meanwhile, Oleg Antipov, another defendant in the case, claims that Solomko needed help in transporting the film and he turned to another defendant, his former fellow countryman Vladimir Zlob, who helped organise the transport, during which, without their knowledge, explosives turned up inside the cargo.
