A lawyer from the Moscow region. In the spring of 2023, his flat was searched and he was suspected of shooting from his balcony with a Kalashnikov assault rifle. The reason for the case was shell casings found in the flowerbed outside the house, also in the case was the testimony of a witness who heard the shots. According to Artamonov, after the search he was beaten at the police station, his ribs were broken and he suffered a head injury. For a year he filed complaints with the Investigative Committee about the actions of the police officers, but they were refused.
In February 2024, Artamonov was detained in the Moscow metro. As it turned out, he had long been put on the federal wanted list, although, as the lawyer's wife notes, he had been a suspect all along and had been going to work, using his car and bank cards without restrictions. The police threatened to send him to a pre-trial detention centre if he did not admit guilt. But two days later he was released from the temporary detention centre (IVS) under an undertaking not to abscond. In early March, the preventive measure was cancelled. The prosecutor's office found violations of the criminal procedure code in the actions of the police officers, and then, on 29 May 2024, the regional Interior Ministry dropped the case.
On 19 June 2024, it became known that the case was reopened. On 10 July it was again dismissed.
In September 2024, it was reported that a case of abuse of power was opened against the law enforcers who, according to Artamonov, tortured him.
In December 2025, after Artamonov testified about how he was tortured, the investigation into the case of hooliganism against him was resumed.
