Ruslan Chomaev

A resident of Karachay-Cherkessia. On December 6, 2023, he was detained and then taken into custody on charges of "participation in the activities of an extremist organisation" due to his alleged involvement in At-Taqfir wal-Hijra. Some human rights activists believe that no such organisation exists. In February 2025, an official report was published, stating that Chomaev was sentenced to two years in a "general regime colony." Presumably, he was released in April 2025.
