Detained on 4 February 2015 as part of the prosecution of members of Hizb ut-Tahrir on suspicion of participation in the activities of the terrorist organisation, arrested, in January 2016 the charge of preparation for violent seizure of power was added; there are reasons to believe that he was subjected to physical and moral pressure in the pre-trial detention facility, including beatings, also went on hunger strike.

In October 2018, he was sentenced for membership in Hizb ut-Tahrir to eight months' imprisonment on charges of organising the activities of a banned organisation.
