Since December 2016, Kabirzoda was a suspect in the case of Andrei Dedkov and Andrei Rekstya, accused of continuing the activities of the extremist organization "Nurdzhular". Kabirzoda was forced to sign a recognisance bond. He was then charged in a separate case. Kabirzoda's case was submitted to the court on 22 December 2017, and hearings began on 25 January 2018. On 14 August, he was sentenced to two years suspended sentence, while the prosecution asked for three and a half years of imprisonment.

Kabirzoda was mentioned in the indictment of another person accused of involvement in "Nurdzhular", Yevgeny Sukharev, as an attendee of a class in which Sukharev quoted the works of Said Nursi, as well as a participant in conversations recorded with the help of eavesdropping equipment and appearing in the Dedkov case. The conclusion of the expert linguist Alla Kipchatova and expert psychologist Irina Malanchuk (Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University) in this case shows that Kabirzoda's statement that those who do not love the Prophet Mohammed will not survive had signs of incitement to hatred and hostility. In addition, according to the experts, his story about his passion for reading the Koran contained "signs of propaganda of the exclusivity of the Koran, therefore of Islam" and created a feeling of "exclusivity of the experience of a person reading the Koran".
