Wrestler Said Osmanov, who urinated in a Buddhist temple in Elista and kicked a Buddha statue, was arrested on 4 April 2016; charged with insulting the feelings of believers; released on bail on 10 June, but detained again the same day, after which he was charged with incitement to hatred; sentenced to two years' suspended imprisonment on 28 July 2016
