Zenkov called himself "essentially a traitor." On February 1, 2024, during the extension of his detention, it became known that the charge had been reclassified to sabotage. Later, it was reported that Zenkov was also charged with arson of a military recruitment centre and a branch of the Pension Fund. The case included charges on committing a terrorist act, "participation in the activities of a terrorist group and a terrorist organisation," and treason. On October 9, 2025, Zenkov was sentenced to 15 years in a "strict regime colony."
