Semyon Zenkov

Lived in Angarsk, Irkutsk region, worked as a graphic artist, moved to St. Petersburg, got a job as an glasses repairman. According to his mother, he spoke out against the war. His cousin died about two months after his mobilisation. On December 11, 2023, he was detained in connection with the arson of a relay cabinet. The next day, he was taken into custody on a charge of damaging property. Zenkov wrote an open letter from detention stating that "Russia will win and will stand through all difficulties." Zenkov called himself "essentially a traitor." On February 1, 2024, during the extension of his detention, it became known that the charge had been reclassified to sabotage. Later, it was reported that Zenkov was also charged with arson of a military recruitment centre and a branch of the Pension Fund. The case included charges on committing a terrorist act, "participation in the activities of a terrorist group and a terrorist organisation," and treason. On October 9, 2025, Zenkov was sentenced to 15 years in a "strict regime colony."
