Sergei Ivashchenko

Served as a steam stoker on the military base of the Aidar battalion and lived in the Luhansk region of Ukraine. On 31 August 2022, people in military uniforms with Rosgvardiya chevrons broke into his home, searched it, and detained him. Only three months later, his wife received a phone call from someone who identified himself as an investigator and said that Ivashchenko was accused of participating in the activities of a terrorist organisation in connection with his service in the battalion. On 11 June 2024, Ivashchenko was sentenced to six years in a general regime colony.
