Sergey Ananin

On 15 February 2021, he was detained and the next day, placed under house arrest on charges of organising activities of an extremist organisation in connection with his involvement with the Jehovah's Witnesses community. Representatives of this community are prosecuted under extremist articles solely for religious activities: meetings, joint worship services, recruitment of new supporters. On 31 March 2023, he was sentenced to six years in a general regime penal colony.
