Biography
On 8 July 2014, he was detained on the street after he filed an application to the Investigative Committee due to the fact that two of his full namesakes ran in his single-mandate constituency; after the detention, he was taken to a narcological dispensary. The reason for the detention turned out to be a criminal case on organising gambling. He was placed in a pre-trial detention centre; the court ruling stated that Yeretnov was suspected of committing especially grave crimes, although the articles under which he was detained were just grave. He is charged with complicity in the illegal organisation
On 8 July 2014, he was detained on the street after he filed an application to the Investigative Committee due to the fact that two of his full namesakes ran in his single-mandate constituency; after the detention, he was taken to a narcological dispensary. The reason for the detention turned out to be a criminal case on organising gambling. He was placed in a pre-trial detention centre; the court ruling stated that Yeretnov was suspected of committing especially grave crimes, although the articles under which he was detained were just grave. He is charged with complicity in the illegal organisation and conduct of gambling, committed by an organised group, and participation in a criminal association. Yeretnov went on hunger strike in the pre-trial detention centre. On 4 September 2014, he was transferred to house arrest. Later, an article on large-scale fraud was added to the existing charges.
On 12 July 2016, the court acquitted Yeretnov on the article on participation in a criminal association and fraud; on the charge of complicity in the organisation and conduct of gambling, he was sentenced to three years in a general regime colony and a fine of 200 thousand rubles. On 28 April 2017, the remainder of the sentence was replaced with correctional labour. On 10 May, he was released from prison
