Shamil Abdulazizov

Abdulazizov was sentenced to life imprisonment on charges of involvement in the terrorist attack in Pyatigorsk on 27 December 2013. After that, a case of justification of terrorism was brought against him for talking to his cellmates about ISIS. On 15 March 2019, he was sentenced to two and a half years in a strict regime colony, which effectively deprives Abdulazizov of the opportunity to apply for parole. The colony administration pointed out that he "professes and propagates extremist ideology" and is "prone to escape, suicide, self-harm and attacking the staff".
