Shamil Ismailov

In custody since 13 July 2013 on suspicion of cooperation with Hizb ut-Tahrir. Accused of organising the activities of an extremist organisation and preparation for violent seizure of power. He partially admitted guilt. He explained that he was indeed a member of Hizb ut-Tahrir, knowing about the ban of the organisation, participated in solving organisational issues, but never heard calls for a violent seizure of power, believes that the construction of the Caliphate should take place on the territory of Islamic states, to which Russia does not belong. On 30 June 2014, he was sentenced to eight years in a strict regime colony. On 11 December 2014, the court of second instance left the sentence unchanged. In 2015, the supervisory review appeal was dismissed. Released from prison in June 2021.
