Vadim Kartashov

A resident of the Stavropol region, together with fellow countryman Oleg Kharaim, was accused of participation in the Right Sector. The accused were detained by FSB and police officers. The regional Federal Security Service Directorate also published information about the case. The investigation materials formed the basis of the criminal case initiated on 28 April 2021 by the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the North Caucasus Federal District. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation completed the investigation on 14 March 2022. According to the investigation, Kharaim and Kartashov were induced to participate in the Right Sector by Oleg Skidanov (sentenced to 6 years' imprisonment in a general regime colony). The trial took place on 11 September 2023. The Industrial District Court of Stavropol found Kartashov guilty of the incriminated offence and sent him to serve 3 years and 6 months in a general regime penal colony. In addition, the defendant's freedom is restricted for 1 year. Presumably, Kartashov was released on the day of entry into force of the sentence on 27 September 2023.
