Biography
The criminal case was opened in June 2016. According to the investigation, in 2013 Cherevatenko, with a criminal intent to avoid complying with the "foreign agents" law, registered the foundation "Women of the Don" and intentionally did not apply for inclusion in the register. The foundation received funding from the German Heinrich Böll Foundation and conducted educational seminars and capacity-building for public figures, activities that law enforcement agencies considered to be "political activity."

Cherevatenko challenged the inclusion of the NGO in the register in court and succeeded in having the union removed from the list of "foreign agents."
On 24 July 2017, the case was dismissed due to a lack of corpus delicti.
