Valerii Ryzhkov

A resident of Luhansk region, Ukraine. He was detained on 6 March 2023 and charged with espionage and sabotage. According to the investigation, he received information from his parents about wounded Russian soldiers in the local hospital as well as the locations and movements of Russian Armed Forces. Investigators allege that the family was involved in a Ukrainian Armed Forces attack, using HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, on a hospital in Novoaidar at the end of January 2023 which killed 14 people. Ryzhkov was sentenced to 14 years in a strict regime penal colony.
