Valery Parfenov

On 22 July 2015, a case was opened against Valery Parfenov in connection with his activities within the Initiative Group for the preparation of the referendum "For Responsible Power"; on 29 July, a search was conducted; on 29 July, Parfenov was arrested and placed in pre-trial detention. On 10 August 2017, he was sentenced to four years in a general regime colony. On 21 December, the court of appeal reduced the sentence by two months. On 17 August 2018, he was released, while a court hearing on his motion to recalculate the days in custody was scheduled for 21 August.
