Vasily Slonov

Resident of Krasnoyarsk, artist. On February 8, 2024, he was searched at his home and studio in the case of repeated public display of prohibited symbols. The next day he went to the airport. According to Slonov, he was going to Almaty for 3-7 days to visit art museums. He was detained, the investigation demanded to detain him on the grounds that he "attempted to leave the Russian Federation". However, the judge said at a hearing on February, 10 that there was no information in the case file about the purchase or booking of a return ticket, and ordered Slonov to be placed under house arrest. On September 24, 2024, Slonov was sentenced to a year of corrective labour. The court also ordered the destruction of the two roly-poly dolls (nevalashka).
