Viktor Chernobayev

Resident of the Kstovo town (Nizhny Novgorod region). On 2 July 2024, his home was searched as part of a case on the activities of an extremist organisation and he was detained in connection with his involvement in the Jehovah's Witnesses community. Representatives of this community are prosecuted under extremist articles solely for religious activities: meetings, joint worship services, attracting new supporters. The next day Chernobayev was taken into custody.
