Vilen Temerianov

A resident of Crimea, a journalist and an activist of the Crimean Solidarity movement. On August 11, 2022, he was detained and subsequently placed in custody. A criminal case was initiated against him on charges of participation in the activities of a terrorist organization and preparation for the violent seizure of power in connection with alleged involvement in the activities of a cell of the Islamist party Hizb ut-Tahrir, which has been designated as a terrorist organization and banned in the Russian Federation without substantiated grounds. On November 26, 2025, Temerianov was sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment in a strict-regime penal colony.
