Biography
He is a resident of Kaltan (the Kemerovo region). On 22 April 2021, a case was initiated against him for participation in the activities of an extremist organisation for his involvement in the activities of the Jehovah’s Witnesses community, which was groundlessly declared an extremist organisation and banned in the territory of the Russian Federation. On 2 May, his home was searched.
On 4 May the court ordered that Syrykh be placed under house arrest, but the court of appeals cancelled this decision and on 20 May the believer was released on personal recognizance not to leave the country.

On 12 September 2022, the Investigative Committee dropped the case against the believer, having concluded that there were no signs of crime in his actions.
On 26 December 2024, Syrykh was again charged – under a more serious article on organising the activities of an extremist organisation. In August 2025, the case was referred to the court.
