Biography
Vlasov, a Moscow resident, a chemist by training and a businessman, was accused of blowing up the Grozny-Moscow train (as a result of an accident at the 153rd kilometre of the Paveletskaya railway in June 2005, four carriages of the train derailed, none of the passengers were seriously injured) out of ethnic hatred. In 2006, a jury acquitted him. In March 2007, a newly formed jury found him guilty. On 10 April Vlasov was sentenced to 18 years in a penal colony. On 19 June, the court of second instance upheld the sentence. Presumably, he was released on 30 December
