Resident of the city of Volzhskiy (Volgograd Region). Previously prosecuted for theft, the court dismissed the case due to reconciliation of the parties. He was detained on 17 April 2022 during a competition in high-speed climbing to the floors of high-rise buildings. According to Koshelev, the law enforcers' attention was attracted by his clothes - he came wearing a cap with the Ukrainian flag and a sweatshirt with the inscription "30 years of independence of Ukraine". On 19 April it became known that a criminal case was opened against Koshelev because, according to the investigation, during his arrest he "deliberately kicked one blow on the shin of policeman Vlasov's right leg, causing him physical pain". On 5 August 2022, the court ordered compulsory psychiatric treatment.
