Yakubzhan Murakhmedov

Arrested on 29 November 2017 on charges of participation in a banned religious association. Unlike the five other defendants in the case of the Moscow cell of Tablighi Jamaat, he refused to admit guilt. On 13 July 2018, he was sentenced to two and a half years' imprisonment in a general regime colony. On 18 November 2018, the court of appeal reduced the term to two years. In 2019, Murakhmedov was released. In June 2019, he was detained on charges of violating migration laws, fined and ordered to be deported from the country.
