Biography
On 31 July 2020, the Investigative Committee announced the initiation of criminal proceedings against Yulia Galamina under the charge of repeated violations of the regulations for organizing public events (Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code). This action was prompted by her involvement in a protest to collect signatures against constitutional amendments, which took place on 15 July at Pushkinskaya Square. Before this protest, Galamina had been subjected to multiple instances of administrative detention in connection with her exercise of the right to freedom of assembly. Law enforcement authorities also conducted searches at her country house and residence.
On 23 December, she was sentenced to a two-year probation period.
