Yuri Avdonin

Resident of Astrakhan. On 13 May 2011, he was detained as part of a case of organising activities of an extremist organisation due to his involvement in the activities of the Islamic movement Tablighi Jamaat. Its adherents are persecuted solely because of their religious activities. On 15 May 2011, Avdonin was released on his own recognisance. On 25 May 2012, he was sentenced to one and a half years in a penal colony. Presumably, he was released in early 2014. In June 2020, he was removed from the list of extremists and terrorists of Rosfinmonitoring, but then included again.
