On 31 May 2012, Baklushin was brought in as a defendant in a case involving the organization of activities for a public or religious association against which a court decision on liquidation due to extremist activities had entered into force. On 11 December, the court ruled that the charge was unlawful. However, even before that, in November, the investigation had re-filed the same charge. Baklushin was also accused of enticing two minors to commit a crime.
