Zagreev Robert Raufanovich

Robert Zagreev is a Bashkir public activist. He was one of the leaders of the Bashkir opposition, a publicist, and editor of several independent websites and newspapers. In April 2011, he was convicted on charges of public calls for extremist and terrorist activities and incitement to ethnic hatred for his 2008 publications, together with publicist Airat Dilmukhametov. He spent six months in prison and was released due to a reduction of the sentence on appeal.

On 16 July and 30 August 2013, Zagreev's house was searched in the case of public justification of terrorism in connection with the publication of Dilmukhametov's article "Akhyr Zaman", and he signed a recognizance not to leave. Since the end of 2013, he had been in Ukraine and was put on the federal wanted list. On 25 April 2014, after returning to Ufa, Zagreev was detained, charged and placed under house arrest. Since 22 May 2015, he has been under house arrest. On 29 October 2015, sentenced to three years of strict regime. On 3 October 2018, he was released.
