Biography
On 20 April 2019, detained on suspicion of involvement in the attack on police officers during a rally against the transfer of land to Chechnya on 27 March in Magas. On 22 April, he was sent to the pre-trial detention centre in Nalchik. During the trial on the measure of restraint Khamkhoev became ill with heart trouble. In the pre-trial detention centre his condition worsened.
On 14 February 2020, he was sentenced to a year and eight months in a penal colony. On 23 April, the court of appeal replaced the settlement colony with a general regime colony. He was released
